Dinosaurs Lunch

T ate this dinosaur-themed meal for lunch today.

  • dinosaur-shaped sandwiches on pretzel sticks (logs)
  • carrots (vegetation) with dip
  • "D" (for Dinosaur) Scrabble Junior Cheez-It Cracker
  • pretzel balls in a dinosaur cupcake liner with pick
(It looks like a bumpy-backed dinosaur, right?)
  • a few additional pretzel balls (rocks)
  • peach yogurt with dinosaur sprinkles

Aren't the dinosaur sprinkles cute?  :)

Yabba Dabba Doo!

Growing up, I loved to watch Saturday morning cartoons.  One of my favorite cartoons was The Flintstones.  I still can remember most of the words to the theme song:

               Flintstones...Meet the Flintstones;
They're a modern stone age family.
               From the town of Bedrock,
They're a page right out of history.
Let's ride with the family down the street,
Through the courtesy of Fred's two feet.
               When you're with the Flintstones,
Have a yabba dabba doo time,
               A dabba doo time.
We'll have a gay old time.

Were you singing??!  :D

Even though T doesn't watch this cartoon from years gone by, I thought he would enjoy a muffin tin meal based on it.

  • pebbles > pretzel balls
  • big bones > Scooby-Doo! Graham Cracker Sticks
  • little bones > applesauce with bone sprinkles
  • Dino's food > Beef Burgundy
  • Dino > toast circle body with cheese triangle spikes and dinosaur head pick and cupcake liner (from Wilton cupcake decorating kit)
  • boulders > whole new potatoes
  • big dinosaur > milk in straw cup

Dinosaur Supper

The challenge last week at Bento Blog Network was to create a meal in an "alternative container."  I missed the deadline for submitting my entry.  :(

However, for T's supper tonight, I made a dinosaur meal in a sandwich container.

  • dinosaur-shaped chicken nuggets
  • mashed potatoes
  • broccoli
  • tossed salad

Dinosaur Letterbox

My Dad, T, and I searched for dinosaurs this afternoon.

We discovered Headless Taylorsaurus.

In the photos below, T is stamping in his log book.

My Dad was not altogether familiar with letterboxing.  He found it interesting...and of course, T had a wonderful time being with his Grandpa and being outside!  :)
