We're Home

T and I returned home late last night after spending almost a week at my parents' house.  While we were there (actually, our main purpose for the trip), my husband and I prepared a birthday celebration for T...for our extended family.  The party was held on Saturday, August 24th, at my parents' house.

I'll post all of the party details as soon as I get a chance.  In the meantime, here's one photograph from the party to tide you over.  :D

Can you guess the theme of the party?  :)

Man on the Moon

The Apollo 11 mission landed the first humans on the Moon in July 1969.

The theme this week for Muffin Tin Monday is the 1960's.  I decided to highlight this space exploration event from that decade for T's lunch today.

  • moons > Pepperidge Farm Space Adventures crackers
  • planet (Venus, I think) > Golden Oreo cookie
  • milky way > 1% milk in straw cup with stars design
  • moon craters > Tostitos Scoops! tortilla chips
  • full moon > sandwich on Nature's Own whole wheat sandwich round with rocket cracker
  • stars > White House Natural Plus applesauce with jumbo star sprinkles

Astronaut at Publix

Next, we went to Publix (grocery store) for their event.

T enjoyed playing the games they had set up:

Toss the spiders into the jack-o'-lantern...

Toss the rings onto the 2-liter soda bottles...

Choose a fish...and hope it has an "X" on the underside....

He also had fun collecting candy...

and ended up with quite a stash!  ;o)
