Halloween Lunch #2

of 5 Halloween lunches, maybe??  We'll see!

This was T's lunch today.  He was so thrilled!  (I think it was mostly the sight of cookies!)

Bats!

  • two bat-shaped sandwiches
  • Cheetos Puffs
  • two Halloween Oreo cookies with a bat design
  • lowfat peach yogurt sprinkled with Betty Crocker Cupcake Gems (black only from the Goblin Pearls mix)
  • orange juice
  • napkin with a bat design
  • black placemat

The Oreo cookies have orange-colored creme!

Halloween Lunch #1

of 5 Halloween lunches, maybe??  We'll see!

This was T's lunch today.  He was so thrilled!  (It has been so long since I have prepared a special lunch for him!)

Pumpkins and Jack-o-Lanterns!

  • two pumpkin-shaped sandwiches
  • Cheetos Puffs
  • Little Debbie Pumpkin Delight
  • candy corn in an orange mini muffin tin paper liner
  • milk in a jack-o-lantern cup

Since the meal didn't require eating utensils, I put a drinking straw in that section of the tray...however, T didn't want to use it.

And in case you can't tell, that's a pumpkin stencil-cut placemat under the tray.

Egyptian

Here is our Egyptian boy.

No...we didn't coach him for that pose!  He remembered it from an old Blue's Clues episode he used to watch...in which Joe was dressed as an Egyptian.  :)

T had a good time playing games and trunk-or-treating at an Awesome Autumn Celebration, held at a church where he used to go for Awana.

Pumpkins

This was T's lunch today.

  • pumpkin-shaped peanut butter and jelly sandwiches on honey wheat bread with Twizzler Pull 'n' Peel green apple-flavored candy for vines
  • pumpkin-shaped pretzels
  • Little Debbie Pumpkin Delights filled soft cookie
  • apricot halves with pumpkin pick
  • milk in jack-o'-lantern cup

Spider Breakfast

This was T's breakfast this morning.

  • spider web-shaped pancake (food-safe marker details)
  • spider-shaped pancake, sprinkled with cinnamon sugar
  • vanilla yogurt in silicone spider liner, with candy eyes
  • milk in cup, with spider design

No...I didn't starve my boy!  haha.  I gave him a couple of additional pancakes...they just aren't shown.

Creepy Crawly Spiders

T's lunch today was full of...spiders!

  • spider-shaped sandwich on honey wheat bread (with sprinkles for eyes)
  • spider web-shaped sandwich on whole wheat bread  (I used a food-safe marker to draw the spider web.)
  • tortilla chips (with plastic spider)
  • vanilla yogurt (in silicone spider liner, with candy eyes)

The spoon even has a spider web and spider on it.  :)  For a placemat, I used a little spider web-shaped rug that I purchased at Target.  (I found it in their dollar section.)

Astronaut at Publix

Next, we went to Publix (grocery store) for their event.

T enjoyed playing the games they had set up:

Toss the spiders into the jack-o'-lantern...

Toss the rings onto the 2-liter soda bottles...

Choose a fish...and hope it has an "X" on the underside....

He also had fun collecting candy...

and ended up with quite a stash!  ;o)

Halloween Gift

My sister and niece surprised us by stopping by this afternoon with a Halloween gift for T.

My niece had made chocolate chip cookies and Jack-o'-lantern sugar cookies and had packaged them (along with a KitKat candy bar!) in a Halloween cello bag.

She also gave T a Snoopy window cling...which he promptly placed on the window by our kitchen table.  :)

T likes his gifts...

and he loves his cousin!  :)

Black is the Color

This week at Bento Blog Network, the challenge is to create a meal based on a color. Since T's favorite color changes often (sometimes on a daily basis!), I decided to go with black.

  • black spider mini Oreo cookie with black licorice legs and orange sprinkles eyes; three additional cookies underneath
  • mini cupcake with black icing and black spider icing decoration
  • celery sticks in black cauldron with Parmesan peppercorn dressing on side
  • pitted black olives on sword picks
  • "black" bat-shaped peanut butter and jelly sandwiches with black sprinkles eyes
  • crunchy Cheetos
  • fruit punch Juicy Juice with eyes attached to glass

T looked at his lunch and said, "Cool!"  ~That was fun!

Frightfully Fun Supper

We had a fun Halloween supper tonight:  Terrifying Twice-Baked Mummies...

and mini jack-o'-lantern pizzas, too.

The easy, low-fat recipe for the baked potatoes with Italian-style meatballs, pizza sauce, mozzarella cheese, olives, and dill pickle spears came from Pillsbury Classic Cookbooks Halloween, October 2006 issue.

BOO'd!

This afternoon, we went to the office where T's Papa works.  T gave Halloween goodie bags to the employees who report to his Papa.

T put a fun size bag of m&m's and a couple of Rolo candies in each bag.

I attached the You Have Been BOO'd sign I came across a week or so ago.  (~Cute idea for neighborhood fun!)

...Yes, it's the same boy....He got a haircut earlier this week!  ;o)

Happy Halloween!
